CLINICAL SUPERVISION

As a BABCP-accredited supervisor, I offer individual or small-group clinical supervision to practitioners who have a professional qualification in CBT or equivalent (e.g. Postgraduate Diploma in CBT, high intensity IAPT training, DClinPsy and DPsych).

I have a wide range of supervisory experience, including trainee Clinical Psychologists, Assistant Psychologists, qualified Psychologists, Psychiatrists, Social Workers, Occupational Therapists and Psychiatric Nurses working in specialist mental health settings and applying the principles of CBT.

I'm a BABCP-accredited CBT supervisor, and as such clinical supervision with me can be recorded as part of your professional supervision requirements and can contribute towards your own accreditation.  I am also a DBT supervisor registered with the Society for DBT and can support you in the development of your DBT skills.

I am experienced in rating audio recordings of therapists' sessions using the Cognitive Therapy Scale - Revised (CTS-R) and use this in my own supervision as well as supervision of others.  I can offer session ratings as a part of our supervisory contract. Alternatively, I can complete a one-off session-rating to provide useful summative and formative feedback.

Supervision is typically available face-to-face and can take place either in person in my consulting rooms in Hampstead, at your own practice (depending on location), or via Zoom.  Additional email support is also available if required.

MY SUPERVISION VALUES:

Through supervision, I aim to provide supervisees with the following opportunities:

  • The experience of a safe and supportive environment to make personal reflections on their clinical practice through self-inquiry

  • The space to discuss case formulations and treatment plans for individual clients

  • The chance to develop specific therapy skills, using role play exercises, case discussion and reviews of the latest research literature and practice guidelines

  • Meaningful and constructive feedback by rating audio/video recordings of supervisee's therapy sessions using the CTS-R

  • A safe space to discuss any concerns about clients, in confidence and with discretion

  • Professional support and coaching
